HimKa Add-Ventures — beyond the wilderness

Legal

Terms & Conditions

1. About these terms

These terms apply to bookings made with HimKa Add-Ventures (“HimKa”, “we”, “us”) and to use of this website. HimKa Add-Ventures is based at Office # 1, Hotel Hunza Story, Karimabad Hunza, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan 15700. You can reach us at himkaadventure@gmail.com or on +92 342 5552159.

Our Refund & Cancellation Policy and Privacy Policy form part of these terms. Where your booking confirmation sets out specific terms for your trip, those specific terms apply alongside these.

2. Bookings & contract

A booking is confirmed when we have received your completed registration and non-refundable deposit and have sent you written confirmation. At that point a binding contract exists between you and HimKa Add-Ventures for the services described in your booking confirmation.

The person making the booking confirms they are authorised to accept these terms on behalf of everyone named on the booking, and is responsible for payments due on it.

3. Prices & payment

Prices are quoted in US dollars (USD). A non-refundable deposit is required at registration to confirm your place; the deposit amount is stated in your booking confirmation. The remaining balance is due 120 days before the expedition start date, unless otherwise specified in your confirmation documents. If the balance is not received by that deadline, you may lose your reserved place and forfeit all payments made to date.

We will honour the price confirmed at booking wherever we can. If a government authority introduces or increases a permit fee, royalty, tax or similar charge after your booking is confirmed, we may pass the difference on to you; we will tell you in writing and show you how the change was calculated.

4. Cancellation & changes

All deposits and balance payments are non-refundable, and no refunds or transfers are possible once payments have been made. Cancellation by you or by us is governed in full by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.

5. Risk, fitness & client responsibilities

High-altitude mountaineering carries inherent risks, including serious injury and death, that cannot be fully eliminated. By booking, you confirm that you understand and accept these risks.

  • Disclosing relevant medical conditions and meeting stated fitness and experience requirements.
  • Holding a valid passport, visa and the insurance required by the Insurance & Visa Guide.
  • Following the instructions of the lead guide, including decisions to turn back.

Mountain hazards include, among others, avalanches, rockfall and icefall, crevasses, falls, extreme cold and storms, altitude sickness (including pulmonary and cerebral oedema), frostbite, remoteness from medical care, and delays or failures in transport and rescue. Our guides work to manage these hazards, but they cannot remove them. You take part voluntarily and accept these risks as part of the activity you have chosen.

The expedition leader's decision is final regarding route safety, timing and expedition conclusion. We may remove a participant from an expedition, without refund, if their health, conduct or lack of required skill puts themselves or others at risk.

6. Insurance

All participants are required to carry the following insurance coverage:

  • Travel insurance covering cancellations and trip interruptions.
  • High-altitude medical and rescue insurance, including helicopter evacuation.
  • Accident and repatriation coverage.

Your policy must cover mountaineering or trekking at the maximum altitude of your objective. You must send us your policy details, including the insurer's 24-hour emergency number, before departure. We strongly recommend buying trip cancellation insurance immediately after booking.

7. Itinerary changes & summit decisions

Itineraries are subject to weather, route conditions, government regulations and safety decisions made by the guiding team. A summit is never guaranteed. Every effort will be made to achieve the planned objectives within safe operational limits, but no refund, credit or transfer is given where an itinerary is altered, an expedition concludes early or a summit attempt is abandoned for these reasons. Any extra costs arising from such changes — for example additional hotel nights, transport or changed flights — are your responsibility, which is one reason travel insurance is required.

8. Liability

Our responsibility

We will provide the services described in your booking confirmation with reasonable skill and care. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for injury, illness, death, loss or damage arising from the inherent risks of mountaineering and trekking described in section 5, or from your own acts or omissions, including failure to follow the instructions of the guiding team.

Where we are found liable, our total liability to you is limited to the price you paid for the trip. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as loss of earnings, missed connections or the cost of travel arrangements we did not book. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the laws of Pakistan.

Force majeure

We are not responsible for failure or delay in providing services caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including adverse weather or route conditions, natural disasters, epidemics, government or local restrictions, permit refusals or closures, security situations, strikes, and the cancellation or delay of flights and road access. Payments are not refunded in these circumstances, as set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Third-party suppliers

Some services — such as domestic and international flights, hotels, road transport, helicopter rescue and government permits — are provided by independent third parties. Those services are subject to the suppliers' own terms, and we are not liable for their acts or omissions, although we will help you resolve any problem that arises.

9. Use of this website

Website content is provided for general information and may change without notice. Personal data you submit is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and disputes are subject to the courts of Gilgit-Baltistan. Please contact us first if you have a complaint — most issues can be resolved quickly and directly.

By registering for an expedition, trek or course, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these terms. Last updated: 1 October 2026.
