Overview

A short trek from our home valley. From the village of Minapin, the trail climbs through apricot orchards and pine forest beside the Minapin Glacier to Tagaphari, the meadow at Rakaposhi Base Camp. Rakaposhi (7,788 m) and Diran (7,266 m) rise straight above camp. It is a good first trek in the Karakoram, or an acclimatisation trek before a bigger objective.
